Superior Lamp President Ken Hennig “2012- The Year Of Personal Growth”

Superior Lamp has decreed 2012 as the “Year of Personal Growth.” We want the new millenium to be a time of renewal, growth, excitement for every salesperson.

What can be more important than personal growth? Nothing! Absolutely nothing!

You cannot read a positive thinking book where the author does not challenge us to grow. Whay is this? Because the only evidence of life is GROWTH!

In 2012, decide that you are going to grow as never before. More income, more pride, more fun will be the automatic result.

Superior Lamp President Ken Hennig “Talent Is A Gift, Character A Choice.”

Talent is a gift we receive at birth that is fine -tuned with age. Character is the result of a decision we make… a choice…to have character or to be a character.

A Superior Lamp we’ve seen many talented salespeople come and go. Unguided talent without purpose is destined to unproductive aimlessness. Talent without character is self-destructive and always wasted.

Those talented people who chose to have character, chose the most vital ingredient to success. Talented people with character are always successful.

Superior is filled with such people of whom I’m most proud. Their collective character has become the character of the company. My father always took great pride in his name and what it stood for. As his son, I could go anywhere he was known and I gained instant respect, merely because I was the son of a man who built a good name.

Superior Lamp has such a name. A name that stands for something. A name with character…the collective character of our talented sales force. As a salesperson of Superior Lamp you deserve to take pride in your name and in the company’s name, for it is you who helped create it with your contribution of your character!

Superior Lamp President Ken Hennig “Say ‘I Can’ Everyday.”

The story of Mary Lawrence’s comeback dramtizes the value of having a goal to guide our actions- and the value of rededicating ourselves to that goal on a daily basis. What did she have to come back from? Almost the end of her life.

When her car was hit by a reckless driver, her injuries looked so catastrophic that the medics thought she was dead and simply carried her to the ambulance. Only a chance pulse check before driving off showed that she was alive. And at the hospital, the doctors expected her to either die or to survive without being able to move or even think normally.

But Mary had decided to survive- somehow- and focused all her energy on it. She faced incredible tests: two major operations on her face without anesthetic and 15 root canals. She also had to deal with not being able to recall even names or simple thoughts.

How didi she respond? First, she adopted the simplest and yet most difficult of mottos: “I can.” Then she set high goals. She astonished everyone by launching into studying for a real estate license. She often had to read material over 50 times in order to comprehend and retain it. Yet her focus on her goal helped her not only pass the test but do so on her first try.

She found work as a real estate agent, but nothing came easily. She failed at two firms- and repsonded by setting her goals even higher: the Million Dollar Club her third employer reserved for its most successful agents. Right away she bought a beautiful evening fown- to wear the night she anticipated being named to the club. She looked at the dress every day as she pursued her goal. By now you won’t be surprised to hear that she won entry to the club and wore her dress righ on schedule.

“Courage” is a motif in Mary’s story, and so is “I can.” But just as important is another simple phrase: “Every day.” That’s how often the courageous say, “I can.”

Superior Lamp President Ken Hennig "Success Habits"

Thousands of books have been written on the secrets of success/ Judging from the amount that has been written about it, one would assume that success is an extremely complex achievment...at least that's what the books sellers would have us believe.

I've had the opportunity to meet many successful people over the years from all walks of life. They're as different as night and day, except for four traits that all of them share. Not 50% or 75% or 99%, but 100% of the successful people (excluding lottery winners and inherited wealth) have every one of these traits.

First, they are HARD WORKERS. They put in whatever time success requires.

Second, they're PERSISTENT. They just don't know how to quit.

Third, they don't understand the word NO or the words I CAN"T. They only understand YES and I CAN.

Fourth, they make no excuses...they just DO IT!

Simple rules, but powerful rules, rules that guarantee SUCCESS.

There's an old saying in our business that states, "The lighting business is the hardest business in the world if you work it easy, but it's the easiest in the world if you work it hard."

Superior Lamp President Ken Hennig " Four Things Can Happen On A Walk-In"

1. Get a field appointment and pitch.
2. A demo.
3. Set an appointment for later.
4. Generate a great lead or referral.

Fieldwork is all attitude. When you're building a great business, it's easy to have a great attitude. Fieldwork is one of the most exciting things you can do when you know why you are doing it. Remember the four things that happen during your fieldwork and that everything you do is important. You will then befin to place the tremendous importance on them that you should.
Stop and think about your fieldwork. Are you excited about it? Do you understand you are building a wonderful future for yourself? Are you staying excited? Do you have a great attitude toward it? Your attitude can mean the difference between a missed opportunity and a beautiful sale.

Superior Lamp President Ken Hennig “Which Comes First?.. Attitude or Actions?”

Most would say that attitude must come before action. The common belief is that you must first develop a positive attitude before you want to swing into action…or go to work.

My contention is that most often action proceeds attitude. In my observation of very successful people, I have noticed that their attitudes are not as consistent as many think. They do have their ups and downs – only their downs are a bit shorter.

While their attitudes rise and fall, their action level or work level remains very constant. Whether their attitudes are up or down they continue to work. They appear to use “action” to turn around their attitudes. While many people use a down attitude as an excuse not to work, the successful use action as a device to turn their attitude around.

Maintaining a positive attitude is a difficult skill to develop and requires constant thought control. Negative thoughts must constantly be purged from one’s mind while positive thought must be cultivated.

On the other hand, the habits of ACTION/WORK needs little continuous thought. As a matter of fact, work is a simple thought that can be held by anyone regardless of intellect or training. One can WORK towards a goal with a positive or negative attitude although it is easier with a positive one.

Still skeptical of this concept? Then consider two people…both negative. One chooses to use mental techniques to turn around his attitude. The other merely goes into ACTION and works HARD. Which one will acquire a positive attitude quicker? The worker of course! As soon as he went to work his adrenalin rose, he could see progress towards his goal and lo and behold, he saw the progress he was making towards his goals and became more positive…then he worked even harder and then became more positive, etc., etc.

Note that the power of action is clearly pointed out in Superior Lamp’s ACTION formula. Of the 3 components of a High Performance person, only ACTION has the double effect of producing both SUCCESS AND POSITIVE ATTITUDE.

ACTION + ATTITUDE=SUCCESS = ATTITUDE + ACTION= MORE SUCCESS

Superior Lamp President Ken Hennig “How Buyers Think”

We spend a lot of time as salespeople trying to learn to think more like professional successful salespeople. Today I want to suggest a switch. Let’s put on a buyer’s hat and try to learn how they think. It can provide us valuable insight into understanding what we as salespeople must do to sell buyers.

The advice I would give to a buyer based on my years of experience as a buyer dealing with all types of salespeople who called on me. As a buyer there was no way I could be an expert on all of the types of product I was responsible for purchasing. Consequently, I had to develope techniques to find out what the salesperson really thought about this product and his prices…as he was the expert. I merely had to find out what he already knew about his product, prices, and service! Of course, I couldn’t just ask them directly because he’s been traing to give me the company line. I wanted to know what he really believed, what he knew.

Understanding how buyers think will help you understand what their needs are. Following their lead will help you become a more successful salesperson.

TIPS FOR PROFESSIONAL BUYERS

1. VISIT WITH THE SALES REPRESENTATIVE- You want to establish long term relationships with your suppliers. The most important element of this relationship is your contact, their sales representative. Visit with them and find out if you are compatible. Do they understand you and will they listen to you about YOUR NEEDS andYOUR PROBLEMS in the future. Get them relaxed as they’ll then drop their guard and they may tell you things they normally wouldn’t. You can learn a lot about the person during this vist that will help you late evaluate the company, their product, and service.

2. WHO IS XYZ COMPANY?- Frequently, you’ve never even heard of the sales person’s company. Ask her who they are what they stand for. If the salesperson is proud of their company and excited about the future, then most likely it’s a solid company with a good product and fair prices. It’s a safe bet that the company and the salesperson will be around for a long time in the future to provide yu excellent products and services.

3. TWO PRODUCT QUESTIONS- No matter what the product is, there are always at least two or three facts you know about it. Ask at least two questions where you know the answers to test the sales representative. If he doesn’t know and lies to you, then dismiss him. If he’ll lie on one point where you KNOW the answer, what will he do on the 98% of the product where you know nothing? However, if he doesn’t know and honestly admits it and offers to get the answer, this tells you he’s at least honest. If he has the right answer, great! REMEMBER, you must rely on this sales representative for product knowledge as you don’t have the time to be an expert in every area. It is imperative that you determine that your sales representative is HONEST and KNOWLEDGABLE. PS- Beware of the sales representative that wants to tell you everything he knows. You don’t have time. He doesn’t understand that his job is to help you, not to teach you every detail about this products.

4. COMPETITION- Ask the sales reprsentative to tell you the faults of his competitors. If he’s quick to run them down, BEWARE, NOBODY’S THAT BAD. Now he’s lying and he’s failed the honesty test. As sales representative that wants to talk about the competitor’s weaknesses is probably trying to divert you attention away from those weaknesses of his own company, which are most likely numerous. You want to buy from someone who will sell her products based on his company’s and his product’s merits. After all, she’s the one you’ll be dealing with in the future.

5. COST- ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS ASK, “WHY IS YOUR PRODUCT SO EXPENSIVE?” or “WHY IS IT SO CHEAP?” You must pin the representative down. Remember, if he can’t justify his price, high or low, then how on earth can you justify buying it? Your goal as a buyer is NOT price but VALUE. You must be sure get VALUE for the price you are paying. Another important reason for these questions is what I call the “FLINCH ASPECT”. Hit him hard on price and if he flinches then you know there’s a problem here because the sales rep himself is not confident in the pricing. If he isn’t neither should you be!

6. BREVITY- As a buyer you time is valuable. Don’t waste time dealing with sales representatives who don’t take their cue from you. They should tailor their presentation lenght to subtle signals you give. If she doen’t take her brevity cue well, prepare to waste hours and hours of your valuable time with this person in the future. Better yet, deal with a sales representative who keys off you and doesn’t waste your time selling twice when once was enough!

7. MAKE HIM FIGHT FOR YOU BUSINESS- Small customers all too often get small service. Find out how much value a sales representative places on you business by making him not just ask for you business but fight for it. Throw out another objection or two and see how he handles them. How well he’ll handle REAL problems in the future. It will also give you an idea of the kind of service you can expect. If he’ll fight for you business, he’ll probably go to bat for you in the future if a problem arises. How hard the sales representative fights for you business tell you the importance he places on you as a customer. DEMAND that he places a lot of importance on you business.

Superior Lamp President Ken Henning “A Customer’s Job Is To Tell You “NO”

A few years ago several large insurance companies did a very interesting study. They wanted to know why only 20% of their sales force wrote 80% of their volume. They called it the 80/20 rule. What they discovered was amazing.

They discovered that the 20% writing 80% of the orders were writing those orders on the fifth time they asked for the customer’s signature. In fact, the fifth close paid more earnings than the first four combined. This 20% of the sales force expected the customer to say “no”. They knew it was his job. They also knew the “magic secret”.

What is the “magic secret”? Here it is: your chance of getting a “yes” and a signature is 80% higher the fifth time you ask them for the order. Why? Simple! The customer is now participating in the close. He has been negotiating the quanitity of products with you. He feels comftorable. He has had an opportunity for input.

The more you ask for the order, the more orders you are going to get. Knowing how to close is a the key for all of Superior’s sales success. Ask and you shall recieve.

Superior Lamp President Ken Hennig "Superior Products Are World Class."

We search the world over for the manufacturers of the finest quality lighting products. It used to be that one need not look beyond the USA. Anything that was made outside the USA was of inferior quality.
No More! Today some of the highest quality products come from what we consider to be third world countries. How can they have world class manufacturing technology? They don't. But the world class USA, European, and Japanese companies who located their manufacturing plants there do. Due to high labor costs in these companies home countries, they have carefully selected foreign sites for some of their latest and best manufacturing plants.
Today we live in a Global Society. We wear clothing, watch TV's, and work on computers, most of which are made outside the USA. Even so-called American made cars consist of components made all over the world. While some people oppose importing of products, no one opposes exporting of our products. The reality is that in order for them to afford our exports, they must be able to make money by selling something to us in return.
At Superior Lamp we are committed to the best in quality and we search the world over for the very best. Second best doesn't make the grade. Our philosophy of quality first price second has led us to manufacturers across the globe. I for one am proud to say we are meeting that goal.

Superior Lamp President Ken Hennig ” Success”

Success depends on your backbone, not your wishbone, so go to work!” – Elbert Hubbard

Work- What an incredible blessing it is to us. Work is the thing that makes us strong and gives us confidence. Work is the reason to get up in the morning. Work helps us set goals that give our lives meaning.

The interesting thing about work is only 20% of the people believe it’s a blessing and understand its power. When you look at truly successful people, you begin to see that they are not more intelligent or luckier, although others would have you believe that. What you find out about the workers is that they create their own luck.

Workers make the numbers work for them. Workers know that work is the great equalizer. In this week’s quote, Elbert Hubbard challenges us to have backbone and work. What he knew is that work is where success comes from.

Superior Lamp President Ken Hennig “Higher Goals= Change”

I hope that everyone has set higher goals for the last half of the year. We all want to grow, earn more and become financially more independent and secure. We all deserve it.

The key to achieving higher, more profitable goals is change…change in our actions. if we don’t change our actions, our results will be exactly the same as last year. Now is the time to identify the changes we must make in our actions now that will produce those higher results in the future.

Review your sales techniques and your work ethic. Identify the things that need the most improvement (change) and create a “change” list. Identify the #1 change you need to make in your sales techniques or work ethic and then work to make it a habit. When that habit is firmly entrenched move to the next item on your “change list” and turn that into a habit. Soon you will have incorporated the changes necessary for you to change your results. Most likely, those results will over shoot the goals you have set.

The fall 2010 should be your best and most profitable. Make certain you match your higher goals to a “change” list that you commmit to. It will guarantee the achievement of your goals. After all, you deserve to achieve more!

Superior Lamp President Ken Hennig “Focus”

The famous Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli stated “The Secret Of Success is constancy of purpose.” By keeping our thoughts and actions focused on our goals we will achieve them.

Likewise, it could be said that dilution of focus is the greatest cause of failure. Trying to juggle too many balls, trying to be all things to all people, trying to do too many non-business activities during the work day all have the same result on our success…they kill it.

Water dropping on a granite slab will eventually cut a hole through it. That dripping water has one “constant purpose.” We can be like that dripping water by giving our presentation as often as we can each and every day with no distractions, no excuses and no mini 15 minute vacations every hour. We can maintain our “constancy of purpose” by giving our best presentation possible to as many prospects as we can each day.

Focus you mental and physical energy on being successful in your career with Superior Lamp. When you give 100%, you have constancy of purpose that will insure that you achieve the MAXIMUM SUCCESS possible for you. Your level of success will surprise you for it will exceed whatever you previously though possible.

Superior Lamp President Ken Hennig "The Power Of The Phone"

Every business is utilizing technology more and labor less. What used to take hours now takes minutes. Years ago one had to spend hours in the car every week traveling to repeat customers in the field. Now we do the same job in minutes with the telephone.

The telephone is technology that Superior Lamps salespeople can use. It allows us to save on auto expenses and, most importantly, it makes us more efficient. Years ago, one would have to spend many non-productive hours in the car each day in order to see a few customers. Now with the telephone, one can spend the majority of the day talking to customers... doing what salespeople must do to make money... giving sales presentations. Match the telephone with a good account base and you can spend the major part of the rally week pitching AND selling customers; customers who are scattered all over your selling area.

The Superior Lamp selling system has incorporated the telephone like no other lighting company. We use it to set appointments. We use it to sell our repeat customers. We use it to put ourselves in front of more buyers per week than anyone else in the lighting business.

The telephone is a fantastic sales tool... but only if it is used. To take full advantage of it, one needs a large file box. To build a large file box, one has to open a lot of accounts. Combine the two and you have annual income potential of $100,000 to $200,000 and beyond. Technology, coupled with the Superior Lamp training system, has literally taken the lid off the income potential of this Superior Lamp sales opportunity. Take full advantage of this opportunity by building a "telephone" file box, using the phone repeat system and then watching your income grow to exceed your expectations.

Superior Lamp President Ken Hennig "Closing Results"

Many people think that success is a product of chance. If you're lucky, you do well, you win a lottery or inherit a lot of money. Most people tend to think of themselves as unlucky, so leaving things to chance is not a surefire formula for success. However, winners view success as something that can be controlled, something that they can influence...something that they can CAUSE. As a matter of fact, I believe that people, through their actions, are the primary cause of success.

It's really a simple process. Success is something you can decide to achieve. I've seen it over and over. they use a simple formula that I've obsessed and used myself.

SUCCESS STEP #1- FOCUS

Pick one thing you want to be successful in. Forget everything else. FIRST THINGS FIRST AND SECOND THINGS NOT AT ALL. This is extremely important. If you focus on tow things, your energy is cut by more than 50%. Actually, it's cut by more like 70%. FOCUS ALL of your energy and time on ONE THING. Think about this goal 24 hours per day, 7 days a week in order to magnify your power.

SUCCESS STEP #2- PREPARE

Develop a SIMPLE SUCCESS PLAN that you can commit to memory. YOU CANNOT IMPLEMENT THAT WHICH YOU CANNOT REMEMBER! So keep it simple. Also, study and practice to imprint your plan your subconscious. When you think you know it, go back and study it a dozen more times.

SUCCESS STEP #3- ACTION

Go to work. Work hard. Star early and work late. Never allow yourself excuses not to work. Enjoy your work. Be good at your work. do more than anyone else would in the same situation. Be a winner. Be the best you can be. Leave nothing on the table at the end of the day. Work so that at the end of the day, end of the week, end of the month... end of the year... YOU HAVE NO REGRETS!!

These three steps will CAUSE success. Success cannot elude these three steps. As a matter of fact, when you implement these to the very best of your ability, you will achieve success FAR BEYOND YOUR EXPECTATIONS. It's simple, powerful, and best of all... IT ALWAYS WORKS.

Superior Lamp President Ken Hennig “The Mark of a Great Sales Person”

“The mark of a great salesman are the orders he will walk away from!” -Ben Feldman

Ben Feldman is considered one of the greatest salesman who ever lived. Ben died a millionaire, all earned from his sales efforts.

His philosophy that a salesman sets his own price tag is considered on of the most important philosophies in sales. Ben said “when a salesman sells his services cheap, the customer is getting a cheap salesman.”

This “set your own price” tag is a wonderful concept for Superior Lamp salespeople to implement. What sales are you willing to walk away from? Are you willing to stand up for your quality products and your quality service? You should be. Your customers are getting world-class product and service when you sell them.

So, don’t sell yourself too cheap. There are tons of quality buyers out there. Sell and service them. Stay away from the customer who thinks he can get something for nothing.

Remember, the mark of a great salesperson are the orders he’s willing to walk away from!

Superior Lamp President Ken Hennig “Practice”

Professional football players practice for days before each game.

Professional basketball players practice before every game.

Professional baseball players practice at spring training and before every game.

Professional hockey players practice before every game.

Professional golfers practice days before every tournament.

Every professional athlete, musician, or actor practices before their performance..

Professional salespeople practice??

Good question… when should professional salespeople practice… and how much should they practice? One thing for sue is that practice improves all performance.. no matter how good they are. The professional salesperson that doesn't practice before giving their presentation is, in fact, practicing in front of their customers. As a result performance will be below what they’re capable of, costing them income.

Who really needs to practice? My answer to that question is “anyone who wants to be a true PROFESSIONAL.”

When should a professional salesperson practice? Here is a list of possible times:

1. Mornings- before your day starts practice the pitch and some answers to objections.

2. Between calls- practice on a needed area.

3. Before a presentation- practice on a needed area.

4. Over lunch hour- Practice pitches on other products.

5. Evenings- Practice less used answers to objections.

6. Weekends- Practice new promo descriptions.

7. Role play over the phone with your manager and cover problem areas.

What should a professional salesperson practice? – “Only what they want to be good at.”

How much should a professional salesperson practice? Answer, “How good do you want to be?” OR “How much money do you want to make?”

I believe Professional and Practice go together. I don’t believe it’s possible to claim to be a professional in any endeavor without constant effective practice. That’s what separates the winners from the wannabe’s. That’s what separates the big buck$ from the rest.

We, in the sales profession, can learn a lot from the sports greats. Their talent, ability and achievements are too often attributed to luck… they were born with it. In fact, the biggest reason for their success is their dedication to hard work AND PRACTICE. We, too, can apply these same tried and proven techniques to make us the best we can be thus maximize our income in the process.

Superior Lamp President Ken Hennig "Are You Doing What You Should?"

As we go through life, sooner or later we become aware that as each day passess, it is gone forever. We can never get it back.

Couple that fact with what Napoleon Hill said, " You are involved in an undertaking of great importance to you." Given these two facts, are you doing all you should to take full advantage of this opportunity?

-Are you working full days?
-Are you working 5 days a week?
-Are you using the Superior Lamp tools and techniques?
-Are you taking care of your customers?
-Are you committed to doing all you should?

Superior Lamp President Ken Hennig “Are You A Hard Worker?”

Is your income where you think it should be? If not, then why isn’t it? Are you lazy? But you work most of the time. You’re not sitting in front of the TV all day. You’re busy. So… why isn’t your income higher?

Maybe your income is not a reflection of your work ethic but instead a reflection of WHAT you work on? Maybe you just spend too much time on non-profit activities. Answer the following questions to find out:

1. I’m busy all day long? Yes or No

2. During work hours I frequently do non-profit activities? Yes or No

3. During work hours I frequently gravitate towards work “I like” most rather than work that will make me the most money? Yes or No

If you answered “Yes” to all three of these questions then laziness is not your problem. You’re busy. You work hard. Your problem is PRIORITIZATION. You’re using up your day (and your income) working on activities that have no profit potential. This can all be solved with one simple solution. Throughout the workday ASK YOURSELF: “Is what I’m doing now the most profitable thing I could be doing with my time?”

If your answer is “No” then change your activity immediately so you can get back to making money. Bill Gates is worth in excess of 50,000,000. It’s not because he works that much harder than everyone else. .. It’s because he works smarter. He, obviously did not spend time doing non- profitable activities. By focusing his energy in the most profitable areas he’s become the richest man in the world.

Can we join Bill Gates in the billionaire category? Probably not, but we can use this same technique to give our income a giant boost… without working any harder… just by changing what we work on.

Superior Lamp President Ken Hennig "Leadership and Sharing"

One of the really great aspects of the Superior Lamp Opportunity is that it grows for you when you share it. Every time we help someone else take advantage of this great opportunity it grows for us. Whether we're helping a new Rookie get started or and old Veteran friend, the net result is that both their opportunity and your opportunity grow.

I'm not exactly sure how it happens but it does. Over the years, I've heard countless personal testimonies on how being involved in Superior Lamp's leadership program helped their careers as much as they helped others. Maybe it's the fact that being involved in leadership forces us back to the basics. Maybe it's the fact that we're working and thinking about solutions, not problems, that forces us to have a more positive mental attitude. Maybe it's the synergy that comes from putting two like-minded, energetic people together with a common goal. Or maybe it's our earthly reward for helping out another human being.

Whatever it is, it works. And, for that very reason everyone should be involved in Superior Lamp's leadership program. The company needs your help to continue and expand our collective opportunity. All salespeople alike need to share in your experience and expertise. And, most5 of all, you need the personal satisfaction that comes from helping someone else become more successful.

Share your opportunity through Superior's leadership program and watch every one's opportunity grow as a result. The Superior Lamp Opportunity is one of those rare things that grows larger for you when you share it with others..so share it a lot!!

Superior Lamp, Inc. Is Seriously Committed To Reducing Energy Consumption

Superior Lamp, Inc. Is Seriously Committed To Reducing Energy Consumption

MOUNT LAUREL NJ—April 7, 2011— Each day we are making conscious and unconscious decisions that greatly affect how much energy that we use and, therefore, how much energy is required to be produced. The cost has never been higher.

The effects of our energy consumption are all around us. Just take a look at any headline in the news today. Many are energy-driven. Each time a middle eastern country has a crisis our stock market shudders at the possibility that oil production may drop off by two or three percent. Every time a storm rises in the Gulf of Mexico, or a bill in Congress on deep water drilling comes up, the effects on our commerce or pollution are put into play.
Would we be so involved in two wars in Libya and Afghanistan if not for the protection and acquisition of oil to operate our cars and factories, thus draining our fortune and jeopardizing the lives of our most precious resource…that of our youth? Currently, we are all on the edges of our seats wondering if the tsunami-damaged nuclear reactors in Japan are going to do great damage to so many different systems that affect our health and commerce. The consumption of energy is the reason for this situation.

Superior Lamp, Inc. urges us to ask, what can we, the consumer, do daily to help at least reduce our consumption of all kinds of energy? The answer is hardly simple, but it starts with a commitment to use less energy. That is the only thing that we can control. Sure, we can write letters to our representatives, or take a proactive approach with our children by teaching them the importance of using less energy. What we can also do is be aware of the products that we purchase, the thermostats that we control, and the lights that we leave burning, all of which can have a dramatic collective effect on our total consumption.

Superior Lamp, Inc. has always been a leader in the commitment to offering energy-efficient lighting products. Superior Lamp, Inc. customers have reduced their energy consumption by using its products. Superior Lamp, Inc. asks, isn’t it time for you to make a stronger commitment to energy preservation?

Superior Lamp, Inc. was established in 1977 and strives to lead the way in “green” lighting products by making all of its products Enviro-Safe®. Superior Lamp’s emphasis on quality has made them the #1 supplier of HEAVY DUTY™ industrial lighting in the USA. All Superior Lamp products are designed to be environmentally friendly, last a long time, and save money on electric bills and cut down maintenance costs. All products feature advanced technologies, energy efficiency, and environmentally friendly components.

Superior Lamp President Ken Hennig "The Competition"

Every day you go out to sell you run into "the competition." They're out there.. everywhere light bulbs are used. They're selling products without warranties or warranties that often far exceed the quality of the products they sell! They're selling products frequently cheaper in price and almost always cheaper in quality! They're providing service that doesn't match that which you or our office staff routinely provide. Their products are most often shipped in boxes that match the quality of the products contained.

Every day you go out thinking of the other lighting companies as being "the competition". Stop for a moment and think of what it must be like for them to go out each day and compete against you!

Every day here's what they face"

Superior Lamp's Heavy Duty Products
* Last longer
* Have Longer Warranties
* Brighter
* Better Light
* Use less energy

Superior Lamp's products are packed to arrive in perfect condition!

Superior Lamp salespeople are better trained to take care of their accounts!

Superior Lamp's phone repeat system insures accounts stay with Superior Lamp!

Superior Lamp salespeople earn more because they:

* Service their account better
* Sell better product
* Sell premium quality

Every day that those "other" lighting salespeople go into the field, they face their competition.. and it is us! WE ARE THE COMPETITION! We are the ones who strike fear in the hears of those light bulb peddlers. We are the ones who are working harder, smarter, providing better products and reaping the benefits! We are the ones who are taking over the lighting market in the areas we are in!

We are Superior Lamp..the most formidable of competitors!

Superior Lamp President Ken Hennig "Burnout Replacement Lamp Business"

Tuesday, April 5, 2011
We are in the "burnout" replacement lamp business. Every time a lamp burns out in the United States we have an opportunity to upgrade them to a brighter, whiter, longer life, more efficient and more environmentally friendly lamp. We concentrate on the replacement lamp business because it is constant and not dependent upon the economic swings and the constructions booms and busts that go with them. The replacement lamp business is constant, year in and year out.

The new construction business is dominated by the "bidding process" which insure that the cheapest, low quality products will always be installed. On top of that, new construction is cyclical as we are using now with the downturn in construction. Those short life distributors, who make their living bidding new construction, are having a difficult time generating sales these days. Meanwhile, the products they installed in previous years are burning out right on schedule, at a constant pace, thus creating our vast and steady replacement market.

There are billions of lamps in the United States and everyday there are millions that burn out needing replacement...with better quality lamps. I view these as "our" sockets that need to be filled with "our" light bulbs. Even if our Superior Heavy Duty Lamps never burned out we would still have an endless opportunity to replace "burnouts" as they are installing millions of new "short life" coolwhites at every construction site across America. This truly is an unlimited opportunity which can only be constrained by limits we set on ourselves.

There is no other business quite like the "burnout" replacement business. The bidding process insure that low quality lamps Will always be installed in new construction. Designers love earth tone colors so warm tone "scotopically deficient" lamps will always be installed. Our business, our future is secure for these reasons. All we need to do is to make sure we take full advantage of this opportunity. Those burned out lamp sockets in your area are ours and you need to fill them with Superior Heavy Duty Lamps...and your checking account with commissions.

Superior Lamp President Ken Hennig "The Power Of Focus"

Step outside on a sunny day and you can instantly feel the warmth of the sun on your face. Now take a 3 inch band of that sunlight and pass it through a magnifying glass that focuses3s it to a pin-point beam and all of a sudden that sunlight can start a fire!

Our sales energy is just like sunlight. Dilute it, spread it thin and it loses nearly all of its power. But... focus it and it becomes awesomely powerful!

Dilution of focus is probably the most common of sales maladies. The thinking goes like this:

" I'm good at selling lighting so I'd also be good at selling (NIC, fixtures, other products, etc.) Therefore, if I sell both I will double my income."

OR

"I'm good at selling small and medium size businesses at TOP OF THE LINE so I'd also be good at selling large businesses, large discounted orders."

It seems so simple. Add another product or add another area of the market and watch the cash roll in. But it doesn't. Actually, the reverse happens...income decreases. Why? DILUTION OF FOCUS!

When we broadend the spread, our sales energy dramatically decreases its power... quickly AND dramatically! Instead focus your sales energy like a laser beam. Focus your energy on selling our TOP OF THE LINE product at full price!

Over the years I've met top salespeople in many industries ranging from insurance to real estate to computers. All of them were narrowly focused on a niche in the field. They wee not only experts on their rather narrow product focus, but their sales tools were extraordinarily fined honed after hundreds of presentations in their narrow product area. They had gatherer ed all of their sales energy and, like a magnifying glass, focused it narrowly. As a result they became the best in their field! Meanwhile, their competitors tried to be all things to all people and ended up DILUTING THEIR FOCUS until they were merely lukewarm sales performers.

To achieve the success of a Top Producer year in and year out, you must pattern yourself after other top producers. And the pattern they offer is that of a tightly focused laser beam of Sales Energy. Here is the classic example of LESS IS MORE. Less dilution yields more income! Focus your sales energy and your increase in income will not be 10% or 20%. It will be 50%-100% Focus... it's simple, everyone can it, and it pays better than any alternative.

Superior Lamp President Ken Hennig "Canary In The Mine"

Years ago before technology, people had to improvise. In deep mines, there was always the hazard of dying from odorless poison gas in the air. After losing a few miners, someone came up with the idea of using a canary in a cage to detect the presence of poisonous gas. If when you showed up for work and found a dead canary it was a good indication that the fresh air supply needed to be fixed or you better leave.

A 6-pack of fluorescent on your order blank could be a canary for a lighting salesperson. It could indicate a couple of selling problems. First, it may indicate you are selling too small accounts. If a customer only uses 6 lamps then is it really worth your time? It's impossible to build a large file box of repeatable accounts that only can buy 6 lamps every 5 years. Second, it may indicate you close needs a tune up. You may be starting too low in your negotiating. Starting at 48 rather than 24 gives you much great opportunity to close at a higher number. You may be cutting too much in your close. If you start at 24, cut to 12 then to 6 you're done. How much better to start at 48 and cut by 6 on each close?

Another problem this 6 pack "canary" may be indicating is "order size-itus" also known as large orders some sales people (actually most) sell 6 packs because they are comfortable with it. I'ts easy, and one doesn't have to develop a strong close.

The benefits to solving this problem can have a major impact. Here are some of the potential benefits of eliminating 6 pack orders.

- Double commissions or ore on your orders. Not only will you move from 6 to 12 to 18 pack fluorescents, you'll also increase the quantity of other lamps yourself.
- You'll build an account base filled with large repeatable accounts.
-When you repeat a customer, they'll be "trained" to buy larger orders. (why train them to buy 6 packs?)

Check your orders for dead canary's (6 packs) and if you find one ask yourself why? was it necessary... or did you leave money on the table? Why not sell 12, 24, 30, or 36 packs? You've already done 99% of the work in selling the customer. Why not strengthen your close a bit and boost your income alot!

Superior Lamp President Ken Hennig "Recession= Opportunity"

Superior Lamp's biggest growth years have always coincided with "recessionary" economic times. So... while the evening news talks doom and gloom we have reason to be optimistic.
Regardless of economic conditions people still need to turn their lights on every morning. And, because MUST use their lighting, the only way they can cut costs is to go to more efficient, longer lasting lighting.
During recessions businesses trim back on labor leaving fewer people to change light bulbs. During recessions, paying the power bill becomes more difficult causing customers to be more interested in energy saving fluorescents and more. During recessions prospects are willing to take time to sit down and listen to ways to save money.
The only way we can experience a recession in the lighting business is to buy into it. For lighting salespeople recessions are optional activities, you only need to participate if you want to!
At Superior Lamp we have the perfect product line to cut customer's operating expenses, especially their labor demands. We can do all this AND provide them with more seeable light thus improving worker conditions. We truly are in a depression/ recession proof business. At Superior Lamp recessions result in increased opportunity for sales.
So.. ignore the news because it doesn't apply to us. We're too busy selling Heavy Duty lighting as a result.. and making more money!

Superior Lamp President Ken Hennig "The Power Of Superior Lamp Sales Presentation"

One of our young salespeople recently worked with one of our top sales people in the field. The young salesperson expressed surprise that one of our top sales people actually used the Superior Lamp sales presentation! He thought that in order to be a Top Producer one must use some "special" presentation that is different than that used by new salespeople.

There are actually 3 ways most salespeople approach selling lighting.

1.Those who use Superior's presentation.

2.Those who have created their own (part Superior, part from other reps, part from a customer's past objection, part from an old job, part because they think it sounds good.)

3.Those who wing it. They never give the same presentation twice, they improvise.

There are certainly a lot of ways to sell light bulbs. However, if you want a presentation that will generate $100,000+ earnings it will have to meet the following criteria:

1. It must be SIMPLE. If it's complex it becomes too difficult to remember in front of customers.

2. It must be PROVEN. If it's not used by Top Salespeople... there's probably a reason. It takes years to develop a new powerful presentation.

3. It must provide a TRACK TO RUN ON. Customers frequently get you off track. They shift your focus. They confuse you. With a TRACK you know right where to get back on your presentation.

4. It insures you MAKE YOUR POINTS. Even if you have to answer your customer's questions or add some small talk a good presentation insures that your points are made.

5. It LEADS YOU TO THE CLOSE. A good presentation always points you towards the close and sets your customer up to be closed.

6. It SETS THE CUSTOMER UP FOR REPEAT BUSINESS The demo, the incandescent and fluorescent presentation and the flashlight set the customer up for a future phone repeat sale.

Superior Lamp has the most powerful and the most profitable selling system in the lighting industry. No one has a better documented presentation. No one has made it as easy to learn. No one has the network of trainers and managers who can help you learn and use this system.

The Superior Lamp sales system, when used diligently, will generate hundreds of new accounts and will all but guarantee $100,000+ incomes. All anyone needs to do is learn it and use it! Don't waste your time trying to reinvent the wheel. Don't try to improve on a presentation that was developed by and used by the best. Instead, commit to using the Superior Lamp presentation with as many prospects as possible each and every day.

If a $100,000+ income seems out of reach, I challenge you to learn the Superior Lamp sales system. If a $100,000+ income still seems out of reach, I challenge you to use it diligently, day in and day out. Learn it and use it and you'll join me in singing the praises of this fantastic money making sales system.

Superior Lamp, Inc.: "There's More to March Than Just the Madness"

March 23, 2011 - MOUNT LAUREL NJ -- Spring is in the air. It's March, which means that all eyes are on college basketball. It's an American tradition to be glued to the television to root for a favorite team and pay close attention to your bracket. However, Superior Lamp, Inc. believes that there is more to March than the NCAA tournament. The weather is getting nicer. While it may be tempting to stay in and watch basketball, it's time for people to get outside and enjoy the weather and maybe even play some basketball themselves.

The college basketball tournament is impressive, and every year it seems to become more and more of a spectacle. If Americans spent even half as much time as they do watching the tournament or put half as much effort as these talented college basketball players put into their craft working towards improving and protecting our environment our country wouldn't be approaching an environmental crisis.

Our natural resources are bound to run out eventually. That is why it is so extremely important for American citizens to do their part. Superior Lamp, Inc. recognizes this need to take care of our country and has been designing their products to be environmentally friendly since the company was established in 1977. Spring is a great time for any individual or company to reassess their energy needs and make steps towards becoming more energy efficient. If everybody just made a small change or two, the results would be astonishing. As the grass and the trees become green again this spring, Superior Lamp, Inc. believes that its time for Americans to get "green" as well.

Superior Lamp was established in 1977 and is the number one supplier of HEAVY DUTY™ industrial lighting in the USA thanks to their HEAVY DUTY™ components and Enviro-Safe® design. Superior Lamp, Inc.'s products are designed to be environmentally friendly and last a very long time to cut down on maintenance costs. All products feature advanced technologies, energy efficiency, environmentally friendly components, and are designed and manufactured for both commercial and industrial use. Superior Lamp Inc.'s corporate goal is to lead the way in "green" lighting products and the company strives to make all of its products Enviro-Safe®.

Superior Lamp President Ken Hennig "Peddlers Vs. Salespeople"

How can you tell the difference between a light bulb peddler (ie. Competitor) and a professional Superior Lamp salesperson (Pro)?
- A Pro never installs product. It's an "expensive" time killer as it wasters "sales and service time"
- A Pro sells at the Top. He/she know who they are... and what they're worth... and the never compromise what they're worth!!
- A Pro sells ONLY THE BEST. He/she views their product quality as synonymous with their personal quality. They want only the best products to represent them.
- A Pro directs their sales energy towards selling their top product (Freshwite). Consequently they become extraordinarily good at selling this product...and make an extraordinary amount of money on this product!
- A Pro uses the rest of the product line get all of the customers additional business which prevents the customer from forming a relationship with a competitor.
- A Pro reluctantly sell NIC product (also known as special order items.) He/she explains that we can get these products as and accommodation but they won't ship immediately as WE DON"T STOCK COMPETITORS SHORT LIFE PRODUCTS. A Prod is careful so he/she is judged only on Superior Lamp quality products and services, not on an NIC.
- A Pro CREATES sales with salesmanship. A peddler searches for sales...begs, discounts, drops quality and installs to make a dollar.

These are the ways of Professional Lighting sales person. The ways of a peddler look easier and are sometimes tempting, but always lead to lower income. At Superior Lamp, all of our sales methods are designed to create highly paid PROFESSIONALS. And it's because Superior Lamp sales people are professionals that our people are the highest earners in the lighting industry.

Be proud of the fact that you're a Superior Lamp salesperson. Show it in the way you work, show it in the way you dress and it will show up in your bank account every Friday. Congratulations on being a Superior Lamp PRO!

What Makes Superior Lamp, Superior To Other Lighting Products?

Superior Lamp’s products have to pass certain criteria in order to be called ENVIRO-SAFE®. It must save energy, save natural resources, or have low mercury (TCLP or RoHS compliant). By changing one incandescent bulb to a compact fluorescent (CFL) bulb, it will save up to 83% on electricity. That energy savings in turn reduces CO2 emissions from coal fired electric power plants.

Our product line even includes those hard to get bulbs. As a National Company we are dedicated to serving the customer with our guaranteed and Energy Saving products. Superior Lamp, Inc.: A Discussion on the Cost of Freedom

MOUNT LAUREL NJ -- America certainly has its fair share of problems. The economy has been slow to improve and many people are still finding it difficult to find a job. A lot of our brothers and sisters are having a hard time preparing for what is up ahead. The housing market is going to take time to recover. Our military is coping with wars and conflicts around the world and our troops are being expended at a horrific rate. We have our hands and minds full at this juncture.

Superior Lamp, Inc. understands the hardships that Americans are facing and have taken steps necessary to ensure that their products are designed to cut down on maintenance costs. Superior Lamp, Inc. products last a long time and save consumers money on electric bills. Every little bit helps in today's economy.

Though we are struggling, we have what many others don't: freedom. We have to remember how we started this nation and be ever aware of the sacrifices that our original leaders and citizens endured to make this possible. Freedom is not cheap. There is a financial cost to maintaining democracy and the individual hardships endured over and over again to make our nation great are not forgotten.

Superior Lamp, Inc. believes that we have a responsibility to take care of our country and preserve its environment. For that reason, Superior Lamp, Inc. designs their products to be environmentally friendly. Since the company was established in 1977, they have strived to make all of their products Enviro-Safe®.

We have had to start over many times and rebuild our country. The demands that are required by our citizens have always been huge. Do we have the will to do what it takes to reach down inside ourselves again and make the sacrifices needed to rise again to the world leader that we once were?

We will not be able to remain a true world leader if our skills are outdated. The commitment to learning has always propelled us to a higher level. Our workforce is demanding new skills and brighter minds. Do we all have the desire to make the sacrifices necessary to meet the upcoming challenges? That is the question that we need to ask ourselves. Unless we dedicate ourselves to renewing our efforts and upgrading our skills we will not be able to coexist with the rest of the ever changing world.

Are you ready to meet the future? Superior Lamp, Inc. asks fellow Americans, are your current skills sufficient to allow you to succeed in today's ever changing world?

Superior Lamp Inc. Discusses the Spirit to Survive in Hard Economic Times

Superior Lamp Inc. Discusses the Spirit to Survive in Hard Economic Times

Despite the adversity America has faced in the past and is facing in the present, with the wisdom of America's forefathers, we have always overcome.

MOUNT LAUREL, NJ, January 13, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- America has constantly had obstacles to get over, around or through. It is amazing how the sum of its parts rises to overcome each challenge placed at its doorstep. Undoubtedly, George Washington had many a night where he thought that this new endeavor he and his contemporaries had embarked upon was just not going to work. More than likely, both of the Roosevelts had similar thoughts that kept them awake at night.

Fast forward to today, living in the greatest democracy on the planet, the people of the United States are facing many concerns that in order to overcome require the aggregate of citizens abilities and the spirit that the forefathers possessed to not only survive but to build on our great foundation and move forward. The ever changing world demands it.

Superior Lamp Inc., believes in rising to the challenge, evolving with the times as the world around has its ups and downs, embracing the ride. Over the past several years Superior Lamp has proven that going green and being energy wise, has become a focus for their company. Coming to realize that consumers are penny-wise and eco-friendly in this economy has been the push Superior needed to launch a number of eco-friendly products, fostering their growth.

While there are signs that the country is starting to rise out of the recession, many have yet to feel the relief. Many Americans want to get back on board the "American Dream", yet it is hard to start over and take new direction but starting over has always been hard and the pain in change is always difficult.

Superior Lamp has always held the belief that "when the going gets tough, the tough get going", and encourages Americans to keep on fighting, keep on pushing to stay afloat. Lend a hand to the people around you that are still deep in the struggle to recover and even an encouraging word can make a difference. Thinking back in history a positive attitude during troubling times can make all the difference in the world.

People are watching and waiting for America to reclaim its proud and earned status as the guiding light to success. Superior Lamp has always prided themselves in work ethic and believes that if America reaches higher and works harder, success will follow.
